1 tablespoon fresh ginger grateduse less if using dry ginger powder
1 tablespoon fresh chopped garlic
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper powder
Instructions
Prepare the Marinade:
In a bowl, mix the soy sauce, fresh ginger, chopped garlic, and cayenne pepper powder until well combined.
Marinate the Salmon:
Pour just enough of the marinade mixture to cover the bottom of a shallow pan.
Place the salmon fillet in the pan, meat side down (skin side up), ensuring the flesh is in contact with the marinade.
Let the salmon marinate for 30 minutes.
Preheat the Smoker:
Preheat your smoker to 250°F. Use a mild wood like apple or cherry for a complementary flavor.
Smoke the Salmon:
Remove the salmon from the marinade and place it in the smoker, skin side down.
Smoke the salmon for approximately 2 hours, or until it is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
Serve:
Let the salmon rest for a few minutes before serving. Pair it with rice, steamed vegetables, or enjoy it on its own for a flavorful, smoky dish.
Notes
* For a slightly sweeter flavor, you can add a teaspoon of honey or brown sugar to the marinade.* Be careful not to over-marinate, as the soy sauce can overpower the salmon if left too long.Enjoy the perfect balance of smoky, savory, and spicy flavors!
